Joy, color, and smiles

A new series that celebrates the simple joy of being a child, the collection features fictional children across a spectrum of ages, ethnicities, and genders.

These pieces evolved from Sean’s recent foray into making bombastic colorful sculptures. Having also created hundreds of portraits over the past 20 years, Sean merged the two concepts into one.

In addition to the bold color spectrum, the pieces are also an exploration of shape and form; each is made with circular or triangular LEGO pieces, instead of traditional square pieces.

Each begins as an original digital illustration, which is then re-drawn as pixel art, and finally built with over 27,000 LEGO® pieces.
