Building it
My assistant Natsuki grew up in Japan and jumped at the opportunity to work on this sculpture. The Bonsai has 9,143 LEGO pieces and measures over 20 inches tall. It took six weeks to design and build two copies of the sculpture.
Various prototypes were created before we settled on the final shape and the final design of the leaves.
