As part of an ongoing series of projects with Marriott, since 2010 we’ve been creating models of Marriott hotels which are presented as excellence awards for their business partners.
This hotel is located in Denver.
I have formally requested that Marriott stop making buildings with so many interesting angles. LEGO models like being square. I’ll let you know what they say.
This building was unique in that, in addition to the unusually angled sections, most of the building was elevated on columns to accommodate a first-floor parking garage. It was tricky to do this because the little white columns you see above are only for show; they don’t provide any structural support and the building needed to be sturdy enough to be cantilevered, and effectively suspended in-air.
