Building it
All of our outdoor-grade sculptures are mounted to a steel base. To do this, my assistants Natsuki (pictured) and Haksul have to do a lot of precise welding to ensure that everything is perfectly straight and aligned with the LEGO grid. They end up building jigs like the one below to hold the steel in place as they weld…. all just to weld a single metal pipe to a flat base! It’s a lot of work but worth it in the end.
